The crimping gems

The crimping is to set a precious stone or a thin metal frame, by moving some of this metal. The techniques commonly used for crimping are:
crimping claw
the claws are metal rods coming out of the frame, rods that comes back to crimp lugs on the stone for the fix.
The crimped grain
is a small chip of metal that is released by means of a cutting shop, mass of metal without disassemble the jewel and then you flip on the edge of the stone.
the seam closed
a thin plate of precious metal housing surrounds the stone. We folded the sheet around the perimeter of the stone, and attaching to the frame.
